FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Financial Accountant to support the finance function in ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and robust month-end processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting audits, and delivering timely financial information to management.

Key Responsibilities
•Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
•Prepare and submit VAT returns and other tax-related reconciliations in compliance with applicable regulations.
•Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation calculations.
•Post journals including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and other month-end adjustments.
•Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
•Assist with internal and external audit requirements, providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
•Prepare and submit National Statistics Office (NSO) returns in a timely and accurate manner.
•Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
•Support financial reporting and analysis as required by senior finance team members.
•Assist in improving accounting processes, controls, and documentation.
•Liaise with internal departments to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.

Qualifications and Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
•Previous experience in financial accounting or similar role.
•Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
•Experience with VAT reporting, reconciliations, and statutory submissions.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
•Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
•Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines.
