Around 400 guests came together for an evening of food, music and fireworks at The Red Farm Relais & Spa in Iklin, raising €10,000 in aid of the Sandra Calleja Foundation (VO/2654).
Held against the spectacular backdrop of the Lija sky fireworks display, the garden party brought together supporters of the Foundation for an enjoyable evening with a meaningful purpose. Guests were treated to a wide selection of food and drinks, together with live performances by two live bands throughout the evening.
The event was organised with the support of MyConvenience and MySupermarket, James Caterers and The Red Farm Relais & Spa. Their contribution, together with the generosity of those attending, helped make the evening a success and generated valuable funds for the Foundation’s work.
Andrew Attard, Vice President of the Sandra Calleja Foundation, thanked all those who supported the initiative. “While the Foundation receives ongoing funding through a fixed share of the profits generated by MyConvenience and MySupermarket shops, we are also actively seeking to raise additional donations through events such as this one,” he said. “Beyond generating funds, these occasions give us an opportunity to bring people together, raise awareness of the Foundation’s work and create a stronger connection between the Foundation, its supporters and the communities and beneficiaries it seeks to assist.”
The Sandra Calleja Foundation is a public-benefit, non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting initiatives in the areas of education, healthcare, environmental sustainability and community development. Through partnerships, donations and its own programmes, the Foundation aims to contribute to projects that create lasting and meaningful social impact. It holds a deeply personal significance for Ivan Calleja, founder of MyConvenience and MySupermarket. It was established in memory of his late wife, Sandra Calleja, whose courage and generosity continue to inspire its mission. Sandra passed away at a young age following a battle with cancer. Her legacy had already inspired important charitable work, including the MyConvenience for Puttinu Cares initiative, which was established following her passing and has continued to support children and families facing serious illness.
The Sandra Calleja Foundation is chaired by H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and supported by a Board of Administrators and a Supervisory Council. Its governance structure has been designed to ensure transparency, accountability and the responsible administration of all funds received, with audited accounts published annually.
The €10,000 raised through the garden party will support the Foundation as it continues to develop and assist initiatives that make a positive difference within the community. The Foundation expressed its sincere appreciation to the event partners, performers, guests, staff, and everyone whose contribution helped make the memorable evening possible.
