MyConvenience and MySupermarket support Dar Bjorn with €5,000 donation and cash vouchers

MyConvenience and MySupermarket have joined thousands of people across Malta in supporting Dar Bjorn, contributing €5,000 and several cash vouchers through the Sandra Calleja Foundation, during this year’s ALS Malta national telethon.

The donation formed part of a record-breaking fundraising effort which saw an extraordinary €1,782,136 raised for Dar Bjorn during the “Tinsinix” telethon held on Sunday, 30 August.

Throughout Sunday, individuals, families, businesses and organisations came together in an impressive show of solidarity with Bjorn Formosa, ALS Malta and the people and families who rely on the organisation’s support. Funds raised through the telethon will help ALS Malta continue providing specialised care, medical equipment and essential support to people living with ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s disease and other neurological conditions, while sustaining the important work carried out through Dar Bjorn.

The €5,000 and cash vouchers contribution from MyConvenience and MySupermarket, was made through the Sandra Calleja Foundation. The donated cash vouchers were used as random gifts for callers throughout the day, and went a long way to encourage more donations.

The Sandra Calleja Foundation is a public-benefit, non-profit organisation established to support initiatives in areas including healthcare, education, environmental sustainability and community development. It is funded in part through a fixed share of profits generated by MyConvenience and MySupermarket shops, enabling the success of the retail network to contribute directly towards worthwhile initiatives within the Maltese community. Supporting Dar Bjorn is closely aligned with the Foundation’s commitment to healthcare and community wellbeing, particularly initiatives that make a tangible difference to the quality of life of individuals and families facing challenging circumstances.

The remarkable response to this year’s telethon once again demonstrated the generosity of the Maltese public and the strong support that exists for the work of Bjorn Formosa and the ALS Malta+ team.

MyConvenience, MySupermarket and the Sandra Calleja Foundation would like to congratulate everyone involved in organising the telethon and thank the many individuals, businesses, volunteers and supporters whose contributions helped achieve this record result. Together, these contributions will help Dar Bjorn continue providing care, dignity and support to those who need it most.
