Caritas Run for Life 2026

My Group Proudly Supporting a Cause that Moves Malta

The spirit of community, resilience and generosity was alive and running at Caritas Run for Life 2026, organised by Caritas Malta. This much-loved annual event once again brought together hundreds of participants, from seasoned athletes to young children, all united by one powerful purpose: supporting Caritas’ invaluable work with vulnerable individuals and families across Malta and Gozo. As one of the main sponsors, My Group was honoured to stand behind an initiative that reflects our own commitment to community, solidarity and social responsibility.

A Race for Everyone – From the competitive 10Km and 5Km races to the children’s 2.5Km and 1Km categories, the event truly embodied inclusivity. Elderly participants, families, competitive runners and first-timers shared the same course and the same mission. Speaking at the event, Mr Andrew Attard, Executive Assistant to the Directors of MyConvenience & MySupermarket and The Sandra Calleja Foundation, explained that from the very beginning the directors believed in this activity and the many benefits it brings. “MyConvenience and MySupermarket strongly believe in being behind Caritas, drugs are so much more accessible than ever before, so we want to invest more in people through physical activities and we are happy to see the number of participants growing. Today, even through the establishment of The Sandra Calleja Foundation, we will be able to reach more NGOs and always be supportive of such activities.” Mr Attard concluded, while also encouraging more people to get involved in physical activities.

We are especially proud of our very own Claudia Calleja, who achieved a personal best of 20:41 in the 5Km, securing 3rd place overall in the female category. Claudia’s achievement reflects not only athletic excellence, but the determination and heart that define this event.

Inspiring the Next Generation – One of the most touching aspects of Run for Life is seeing children participate with such enthusiasm. From 6-year-olds running their very first kilometre to teenagers competing over 2.5Km, the atmosphere was electric with encouragement from parents, coaches and supporters. Young champions like Carla Bonnici, Jake Callus, Emily Vella and many others demonstrated that community spirit has no age limit. These races are about more than medals. They build confidence, discipline and empathy from a young age.

Why It Matters – Caritas Malta provides vital support in areas such as rehabilitation, social assistance and community services. Every registration fee, every sponsorship, and every cheering supporter contributes to sustaining these life-changing programmes. At My Group, community support is not a seasonal campaign. It is part of who we are. Supporting Caritas Run for Life 2026 aligns perfectly with our broader CSR commitments and our belief that businesses thrive when communities thrive.
